Grades

The Grade levels of participants will determine how to structure the programme for them.

Primary school kids after a fun morning on the river

Primary schoo

  1. Children from Grades 1 to 7 cannot all be handled in one batch. On the learning side they are not yet specialising in subjects and can be given a general introduction to landscapes and life on Earth.
    • Kiddies up to 12 years need games, short talks and activities to keep them busy and focused. Teacher participation is important
    • Older primary learners 12-16 can have more content and problem solving challenges. Again, teachers should be present and play an active role.
  2. All can take part in activities suited to their ages and abilities. Hikes and river padding can be managed for the entire group of primary kids.

Teachers on a hike, joining a school group in the mountains. Teachers join activities free in a ratio of 1:30 learners.

Secondary schools

  1. Teens from Grade 8 & 9 are compatible with classes and activities. Subject matter can be developed if teachers tell us what to include.
  2. Grades 10-12 usually have subjects from geography to tourism where we are well equipped to provide notes, presentations, videos and project outlines.
  3. All can take part in activities suited to their ages and abilities. Hikes and river padding can be managed for the entire group.

All together

There is likely to be less formal learning and more pleasure and excitement where school groups from kids to older teens are group togther. Here the solution is a day of activities in the outdoors, with informal talks on nature and life skills as we go.
